The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come."
And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.
~Rev 22:17

What to Expect

Elders and Deacons

You  have probably heard of the Church of Christ through special invitation from
friends or family members.  You may have considered attending a worship
service or gathering, but have put it off simply because of the dread of going to a
strange place, not knowing what to expect.  Let us briefly introduce ourselves
so you will feel more comfortable when you come to meet us.

WARM WELCOME- You can expect a warm, friendly welcome.
We believe that one of the basic principles of Christianity is love and friendship toward our fellowman.
(Mt. 22.:6-40)  Christianity does not have room for favoritism or respect of persons on the basis of poverty or wealth.  (Jas. 2:1-9)  Jesus is our highest example in friendliness.  He is compassionate toward all humanity, regardless of their status in life.  We believe you will find that same spirit among our church members.  When you visit us, you will be considered an honored guest.  You will be greeted with kindness and  courtesy.  (
Prov. 18:24)  If you need help finding anything, or have any more questions once you've arrived, just grab the nearest person you see and you will find them more than helpful, friendly, and courteous to your needs.

SINGING - You'll notice that our singing is without instrumental accompaniment.
We find that a cappella congregational singing both enhances our personal involvement in the worship and models the New Testament example. A cappella means “in the manner of the church” or, “as in the chapel.”
The congregation will blend their voices together in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.  The purpose of our songs is to praise God, and to teach one another through our singing.  (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16)  Most people find a cappella singing  a pleasant and spiritual involvement in worship.

PRAYER - We believe in the power of prayer.
When we come together in an assembly, prayer is an important part of our worship. We are led in prayer by a brother who speaks his prayer publicly, and the rest of us follow as we pray together.

TEACHING – You can expect Christ-centered teachings from the Bible in both our classrooms and pulpit.
We believe the Bible to be an inspired, authoritative book.  (II Tim. 3:16-17)  Our Bible class teachers usually teach directly from the Bible.  You are encouraged to check your Bible with what you will hear from our pulpits.  In all sermons we use many scripture references and encourage you to page through your Bible to read it for yourself as Gods word is read.  This is the time when the “Good News” of God’s love and Jesus redemptive life is proclaimed and applied to our lives today. We hope you will find it encouraging, relevant, and Bible based.

LORD'S SUPPER - You can expect us to partake of Communion on the first day of every week.  Jesus instituted this supper as a simple memorial of his death on the cross.  (Mt. 26:26-29; I Cor. 11:23-26) As we partake of the bread and fruit of the vine, our minds are to be centered on the events of the cross.  In this act, we have communion or fellowship with Christ.  (I Cor. 10:16)  We do not  forbid any guest participation in the Lord’s Supper.  It is the choice of our guest.

GIVING -

Our giving is a convienient way to support the work of the church.
(II Cor. 8:1-8)  There are many factors that determine the amount of our offerings, but above all they must be free-will offerings.
(II Cor. 9:6-7)  Visitors and guests are not expected to give unless they want to.
